Rietvlei Crushing and Screening Plant
Plant Commissioned in 2019
The Rietvlei coal crushing and screening plant is modeled on the successful implementation of design employed at Mzimkhulu Mine.
The existing and proven design enabled a rapid schedule from project award to commissioning.
Start-up works began in October 2019. Since then, the team has safely and reliably delivered against its production targets, on time and on budget, and contributed to local employment opportunities.
The plant is capable to process up to 4,2Mtpa of ROM and has a nameplate capacity of 650 tph.
Plant consists of:
- Twin ROM tip bins
- 3-stages of crushing
- Scalping screens to enable recycling of oversize and positive top size control
- 2 x 18,000 radial stackers to conform to ESKOM’s Quality Management System
